Quoin Structural Consultants is a boutique structural/civil engineering consultancy, established in 2006 and based in central Christchurch. We currently have 19 employees.

Over the past 20 years, we have successfully grown to provide specialist structural and civil engineering design services. We work within a wide range of industries including healthcare, residential, commercial, industrial, retail, education, hotel, community and recreation.

Understanding our clients’ needs to meet the special requirements that each project uniquely demands is of utmost importance to us.

The Role

Due to an increase in workload we are looking for a NZ Chartered Professional Civil Engineer. You would undertake civil design and construction monitoring for a range of commercial and residential projects. You will work on various sized projects primarily for our private sector clients. There will be plenty of variety and we are keen to assist you develop your practice.

We operate a flat structure and growth opportunities in this role are significant. We are looking for the right person to join our talented team and will only consider candidates who are Chartered Professional Civil Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Local knowledge of three waters, earthworks and pavement civil design.
  • Ability to use AutoCad Civil 3D and Bluebeam software.
  • Preparation of reports, tender and contract documentation.
  • Supervision and general project administration.
  • Working with existing civil designer and reporting directly to a Director.
  • Production of your own drawings.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Be a tertiary qualified Civil Engineer and a registered Chartered Professional Engineer.
  • Able to bring in work and grow a civil engineering practice.
  • Able to work in small collaborative team environment.
  • A positive attitude and excellent communication & organisational skills.
  • Technically astute with relevant experience in the NZ regulatory environment.
