Environment Canterbury, 200 Tuam Street

5-storey, 8000sm office building (Importance Level 3), including full basement carpark. The building is base isolated, incorporating a combination of lead rubber bearings and stainless steel sliders for premium seismic performance. 

The design includes innovative use of composite steel and concrete flight auger piles to eliminate vibration effects during construction and a combination of precast concrete frames and metal composite floors, with seismic mass, optimised to achieve the most efficient design.  The building features a 5-storey high clear space atrium with column free stairs.
